Maths Maestro respects the privacy of personal information of visitor and user of the website and is committed to protecting user privacy. As an Australian business, we comply with the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) under the Commonwealth Government Privacy Act 1988 and other laws which protect your privacy. Maths Maestro has established a privacy policy based on National Privacy Principles which sets out how we comply with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988. This Privacy Policy explains how personal information will be treated as you access and interact with the website. We do not collect personal information, when individuals only browse the website. We collect personal information as part of our normal communication processes directly related to those purposes, including:

  • Purchasing
    Personal and financial information provided when you purchase an item or renew a subscription is protected at all stages of the transaction. When you purchase something through Maths Maestro, your personal and financial details are protected at all stages of the transaction. In order to process your payment we need to know your name, address details, email address and your order. Your credit card details are entered directly into our financial institution's system (Paypal) and are not collected by our servers or transmitted from our site. They are NOT known to our system. Your credit card information is entered into our secured credit card information page. The credit card information then is sent securely to our financial institute's system (Paypal). No credit card information is stored on our servers.
  • Market research statistics
    We are subject to our internet provider terms and conditions. When an individual looks at our website, our internet service provider may make a record of the individual’s visit and logs (in server logs) the following information for statistical purposes:
    • the individual’s server address,
    • the individual’s top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .org, .au, etc),
    • the pages the individual accessed and documents downloaded,
    • the previous site the individual visited, and
    • the type of browser being used.
    We do not identify users or their browsing activities except, in the event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the internet service provider's server logs.
  • Cookies
    Our website may use session cookies to keep track of users that are logged in. When an individual closes their browser the session cookie set by our website is destroyed and no personal information is maintained which might identify an individual should they visit our website at a later date. We may also use cookies to track user browsing behaviour for statistical and marketing purposes.

Use and disclosure

We only use personal information collected via our website for the purposes for which it was given to us. However, if you are a Maths Maestro member, your details may be retained and used for the following purposes:

  • administrative and operational purposes
  • to deliver superior web services
  • to market web services
  • to prevent any unauthorised access to member details
  • to make recommendations to members about other services the company offers that may be of interest to you

When an individual’s email address is received by us because they sent us a message, the email address will only be used or disclosed for the purpose for which they have provided it and it will not be added to a mailing list or used or disclosed for any other purpose without the individual’s consent.

We maintain and update personal information collected from or published on our website as necessary or when we are advised by individuals that their personal information has changed.

Data security

Individuals who choose to join our email lists, complete online forms or lodge enquiries will have their contact details stored on password protected databases. Third party support personnel associated with website maintenance have access to our website’s back end system which is password protected.

Access and correction

Maths Maestro strives to maintain up to date and accurate information about its members. Maths Maestro members can view their personal information and update it at their discretion at any time by using the 'User profile' option on the website. If an individual requests access to the personal information we hold about them, or requests that we change that personal information, we will allow access or make the changes unless we consider that there is a sound reason under the Privacy Act or other relevant law to withhold the information. Individuals can obtain further information about how to request access or changes to the information we hold about them by contacting us.

Revision of Privacy Policy

Maths Maestro reserves the right to change, modify, or revise this Privacy Policy in order to comply with any applicable laws or for any other reason at any time without prior notice. It is user responsibility to review these for any changes.
